I'm not sure what that investigation will exactly prove. It's not illegal to text the judge during a trial. Some people claim it was happening while court was in session which is ridiculous since everyone would notice that. Besides, I doubt any serious judge would be checking text messages while on the bench. It's not at all uncommon for an attorney to confer with the judge while court is out of session in order to be sure procedures are followed to the judge's satisfaction. While this is usually done face to face, society nowadays seems to think texts are a good substitute for real conversations. The only people who know what the texts were about are SPM and the judge. She's also being investigated for texting with the judge during her trials. Sort of their own cell phone controversey.

It does seem that both sides are all in on this drama. At this point, neither is interested in give and take. As a result, the county they serve suffers.SPM tends to be way over the top and is not popular within the CC legal community. These accusations make that obvious.
She could help herself by toning things down and trying to work more with people within the local legal community.
I think your points - for the most part - are probably very valid.SPM tends to be way over the top and is not popular within the CC legal community. These accusations make that obvious.

Even if it were possible ... it would be impossible.I think your points - for the most part - are probably very valid.
I'm just not sure, though, that trying to "work more with the local legal community" is the right answer......given the nature of the beast.

It seems some people in Centre County want SPM to be guilty of something no matter what it is. It doesn't even have to be true so long as people THINK she is guilty. I saw an interview on a local channel with one of the Centre County commissioners after it was announced the judge's signature was genuine. He said in effect that even though SPM was cleared of any wrongdoing regarding the signature she still must be doing something wrong somewhere. WTF?? I'm glad I don't live in Centre County where apparently it's OK to reach a conclusion without facts. Gee, when has that happened before? November 2011 anyone?
