On the one hand, there’s the joy of watching Michigan lose. At home. To an underdog. Harbaugh’s scowls and grimaces. The tear-soaked faces of the rain-drenched fans. Haha!
On the other hand, now what was going to be a big-time Big Game on October 21 is just a little less big in terms of media attention and national spotlight. (But I think it will still be the game of the week, slotted in prime-time and so forth.)
You do have to wonder how the psychology of this plays out with Michigan. Will they come in with an extra chip on their shoulder, looking for prime-time redemption? Then again, we’ve got the payback factor going for us.
The psychology aside, Michigan looks very beatable. Outstanding defense. Pedestrian offense. Second-string QB who was exposed a bit last night. If that’s the game their offense brings to Beaver, we should be OK. However, we do have a couple issues of our own on offense to work out.
At this point, I think we’ll be favored maybe in the range of 5-7 points.
