I'm not a fan of Downey but will root for him overseas, and definitely don't begrudge him raising money for the trip, as all the team members typically do.
I hope he makes his goal and the family can make the trip. otherwise, gam gam better raise the weed prices, or PD2 and @PD4thespawn arent leaving the DMV
Nah..I’ll pass. I was rooting him on and I’m always gonna give someone a 2nd or even 3rd chance, but when DT got hurt in the BTS match Downey was all over twitter telling anyone who would listen that DT was no longer top dog because he took a “loss.”

I feel like a donation to Camp PD practically mandates that *I receive some weed and drink in return.

BTW, if Downey is good enough to qualify USA for 86 kg at the Olympics, whenever those qualification events occur, that takes some pressure off Taylor's recovery timeline.
I don't begrudge him raising money. But hasn't PDII portrayed himself as some kind of Ph.D. holding captain of industry? Could be wrong. Just didn't think money was an issue.

To be fair most of the participants in Final X had ads (not popups as I have an ad blocker) on Flo during Final X asking for funds to help them with expenses.
I saw those, but they were text to donate(i think) not gofundme, not that there is a big difference. I also notice some but not all had them. Thought it was a flo thing but wondered why only some had them.

What funds does he need? USA wrestling pays for the trip. If he is not being supported at a RTC, then that is on him.
I cannot imagine sending money to him for this trip or any of the other guys for that matter. Now, if they are saying they need money to train , I can see that, but with the plethora of RTCs and paid athletes, If he can't find someone to sponsor him, then that is on him.

I would bet $10 that most of his family are on No-Fly Lists and/or have outstanding warrants.
His father was so careful to cultivate goodwill among other fan bases, I am sure they will raise the money in no time.

Also, probably a diversion, but Titan Mercury Wrestling Club, I thought they were mostly money sponsors and did not have actual locations. But then how does Yianni get support from them since he is still an amateur. I must be wrong on my understanding of them. Anyone able to set me straight?

The day before the WTT finals, PD3 tweeted that he was looking for a good place/ bar to get drunk that night. He’ll get support, but not one penny from this guy.

This fascinates me. For those willing to give money, because "he's on Team USA" or "we are all Americans", where would you draw the line? What would it take for you to not donate? This father and son combo virtually shit on everybody in their way for years. I'm guessing you wouldn't give OJ any money if he was "on Team USA", so the line must be somewhere in between.
Supporting his right to raise money versus actually donating money to him are two entirely different issues. There will be no money from me but if others want to donate, it's their money and they can do whatever they want with it.
