PD3 looking for help.

That's awesome hope everyone donates. At the end of the day we are all Americans and he's on Team USA so let's support PD3.Regardless of his past he has changed his life around so let's show support. So funny everyone acts like they never had problems growing up it's time to grow up and support all Team USA wrestlers regardless of where they train

Nah..I’ll pass. I was rooting him on and I’m always gonna give someone a 2nd or even 3rd chance, but when DT got hurt in the BTS match Downey was all over twitter telling anyone who would listen that DT was no longer top dog because he took a “loss.”

I realize that’s probably the lightest of his transgressions, but rubbing it in when someone’s injured rubbed me wrong way.

I would be much more inclined to donate if I wasn't fairly certain a fair percentage of whatever is raised will be spent on weed and drink. Not that there is anything wrong with a good time, on your own dime.

I feel like a donation to Camp PD practically mandates that *I receive some weed and drink in return.

Forget tshirts and ball caps. If I'm rockin any PD #brand swag, I dang sure want it to be weed and drink.

Those cases of Natty Boh aren't shipping themselves to Kazakhstan.

Seriously: he may be a jackass, but right now he's OUR jackass. Hope he gets the funding and does well.

BTW, if Downey is good enough to qualify USA for 86 kg at the Olympics, whenever those qualification events occur, that takes some pressure off Taylor's recovery timeline.

To be fair most of the participants in Final X had ads (not popups as I have an ad blocker) on Flo during Final X asking for funds to help them with expenses.
I saw those, but they were text to donate(i think) not gofundme, not that there is a big difference. I also notice some but not all had them. Thought it was a flo thing but wondered why only some had them.

I support you and wish you the best PD3 but no you will get no money from me.

I view this like giving cash to the homeless, I want to help you but I don't know where it's going so I won't give you cash. If you want a coffee or a sandwich, sure why not?

What funds does he need? USA wrestling pays for the trip. If he is not being supported at a RTC, then that is on him.
I cannot imagine sending money to him for this trip or any of the other guys for that matter. Now, if they are saying they need money to train , I can see that, but with the plethora of RTCs and paid athletes, If he can't find someone to sponsor him, then that is on him.
If they are saying they need money so their family can come watch, then maybe. But why exactly is he asking for the money?

Only some had them because others.....like Yanni.....are still in college and still an amateur.

I thought that also, but did not see one for Zain, I could not find consistency.

Also, probably a diversion, but Titan Mercury Wrestling Club, I thought they were mostly money sponsors and did not have actual locations. But then how does Yianni get support from them since he is still an amateur. I must be wrong on my understanding of them. Anyone able to set me straight?

An "Abdulrashid Sadulaev" just donated to Downeys cause!

The day before the WTT finals, PD3 tweeted that he was looking for a good place/ bar to get drunk that night. He’ll get support, but not one penny from this guy.

Didnt mean to quote you Doak

Are you willing to accept mediocre-quality weed and malt liquor?

This is the kind of booze I imagine PD3 giving out

Why would Z need to raise funds? The slush fund has it all covered. :p

That was actually a parody account about Downey...but in your defense, like more and more things, the reality and the satire can be pretty tough to distinguish between!

Joking aside, I think all indications are that in recent months he’s been committed to his wrestling preparation, at least. Finally...

His father was so careful to cultivate goodwill among other fan bases, I am sure they will raise the money in no time.
This fascinates me. For those willing to give money, because "he's on Team USA" or "we are all Americans", where would you draw the line? What would it take for you to not donate? This father and son combo virtually shit on everybody in their way for years. I'm guessing you wouldn't give OJ any money if he was "on Team USA", so the line must be somewhere in between.

Supporting his right to raise money versus actually donating money to him are two entirely different issues. There will be no money from me but if others want to donate, it's their money and they can do whatever they want with it.

Well said. And tbh, PD3 does have a following, so it's likely he'll get some help for his family's travel.

So I guess I should have added a winking emoji...I thought it was obvious I was joking with PDII's message board fame.

Someone has a sense of humor if you read the GoFundMe donors list.

I personally will wait to see if Zain has a page to donate, to keep things close to the farm.

I'm with you................

It reminds me of what Graig Nettles supposedly once said about the classic egotist Reggie Jackson

A reporter once said how great it must be to get to see Reggie play every day.

Nettles had an acidic sense of humor, and he replied, "The worst part about playing for the Yankees is having to watch Reggie Jackson play every day."

Would (and will) give money to homeless veterans, down on their luck hipsters, and guitar-wielding buskers before the idiot Clowny, who will likely be one and done.

Hope he makes plans to tour the city with his parents and realize he will never see another World Championship again unless it is from the safety and distance of his computer screen.
