“On paper, the loss for Penn State doesn't change a ton. The Nittany Lions were perceived to be an 8-4 or 9-3 team entering the season, and after Saturday's loss to Michigan, a 9-3 season seems likely with games against Minnesota, Ohio State, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, and Michigan State still remaining.”

Like he said. Mediocrity. I guess it’s better than being 3-9.

I'm hoping that the white out can propel us to 10-2. Ohio St is unlikely and we better figure out some things with the lines for next week or Minnesota will lean on us too.

But we could run that last part. It's not 100% a given, but it's doable.

On another note, I think Michigan has a legit shot of doing to Ohio St what they did last year. They have the formula to win that. Just dominate the LOS. Not sure if Ohio St is man enough to prevent that. I know we weren't.

Agreed here. Can Penn State go 10-2? Absolutely. But the last three weeks would make you think they're more likely to suffer a loss somewhere due to their inconsistencies.

Don't sleep on Maryland. They have a really good offense.

Don't agree with your OSU assessment as I've read that their new defensive staff loves to stack the line of scrimmage to stop the run and put pressure on the QB. Their DC Knowles even said that the expect to give up 3 to 4 big plays a game. They are also rotating 10 to 12 DLs this year - something they didn't do last year - and they're all very good. If Michigan wins that game, McCarthy is going to have to do it - a lot - through the air - something PSU should have been doing this afternoon

Well the last data point was Michigan manhandling Ohio St. Ohio St barely beat Notre Dame who lost to Marshall at home the very next week by an even worse score. Ohio St has improved since then but they won't control the LOS against Michigan and may just get dominated at the LOS again this year.

Granted we don't have the hosses on our lines to attack Ohio St with Michigan's game plan. So we're going to have to try to man up athlete to athlete where they have an advantage. But Michigan may own the LOS a negate that athlete advantage.

And I agree, Maryland is not going to be a gimme. We're going to need to play well to get that done especially since we are their superbowl.
