Penn State begins winter workouts, who were the competitors of the day?
Who were the first competitors of the day for Penn State's winter workouts?
Really need Zuriah Fisher to stay healthy enough to be a key contributor. The talent s there, a season free of injury is necessary.![]()

Zuriah could potentially be the starter opposite DDS. Good to see he looks healthy and ready to contribute. To me Shelton may be the most underrated Olineman. He stepped in to the starting roll in 22’ as a true freshman and I didn’t see much drop off from Fashanu. He started every game at LT last year and I can’t remember him getting beat or dominated in any game as he just quietly does his job. I saw he’s projected to be a second round pick, but I could see him sliding into the first round with a dominant senior year.Really need Zuriah Fisher to stay healthy enough to be a key contributor. I agree. Also, I just love at how Rucci developed last season; I just love his body type because he's big and carries his weight well.Zuriah could potentially be the starter opposite DDS. Just lifting probably, with those that are working on weight gain really hitting the calorie intake hard.I thought winter workouts started like the day after the Orange Bowl? What have they been doing for 6 weeks?
Also, several players probably had to have some clean-up surgery, which I understand that Rojas had.Just lifting probably, with those that are working on weight gain really hitting the calorie intake hard.
It is also that for the past 6 weeks they can work with S&C coach, but not with position coaches, and now with position coaches those coaches can not rate effort and declare players of the day for each position?
Well now that Vanover was not granted the additional year and Smith-Vilbert is in the portal, PSU needs Fisher to start and become very productive. Everyone behind DDS, Fisher and White are really young. PSU also needs Granville to make a huge leap after getting some PT last year as a true Freshman.Yep, Fisher is almost a wild card as he never has played in a long enough stretch to really get a feel for his ceiling. I believe DE will be pretty good even not counting on him with DDS, Vilbert and White, and then the younger players that have played some, Granille, Mayer and Harvey. And then a nice group of DE's developing in Williams, Robinson, Burnett, and Kemajou. Lots of players from which we could see one or more transform their body and break out in the Spring practices.
And then if Fisher who is a very mature and strong DE, could also reach his potential and be the 2nd or 3rd DE the position could easily have 6 very talented DE's ready to rotate and wreak havoc for opposing Olines.... A QB hunting party!
I'm very surprised that Vilbert entered the transfer portal as PSU stuck with him for such a long time when he was not playing and he would have been in the fray to start with DDS in 2025. Seems he must have gotten some offers$. Vilbert in the 280-290's didn't seem to be the pass rusher he flashed earlier in his PSU career but as a big, experienced DE he did a pretty good job last season when on the field.Well now that Vanover was not granted the additional year and Smith-Vilbert is in the portal, PSU needs Fisher to start and become very productive.
