Podcast Penn State Football Spring Position Preview - Quarterbacks

I think a key interest area is Bekkem. he comes with a lot of baggage and controversy relative to if he is worth the 'ship and stars. But he seems to be very physically gifted. It will be interesting to see if college ball is a better place for him. HS football, today, is very unstructured. Perhaps a commitment to a quality program will help him blossom.

I'm not sure "physically gifted" is the term I would use exactly (Losey said he was essentially a blank slate when he arrived, I believe). Perhaps he has above average arm talent and his parents took him to camps early, but I sense a kid that we liked early who never particularly developed further.

Was that because of his HS moving? Did he peak early? No clue. I'd be inclined to say that unless he is willing to stay and be developed, he will leave PSU within the next 15 months.

It's tough to really invest in most of the kids that are projects because everyone wants to play immediately and if they don't they'll leave.

The great thing (for schools now) is they no longer have to process kids that aren't ready/don't develop/should be playing at a lower level.

He looks extremely thin....could probably put on 30 to 40 lbs. He was listed at 195. Looks more like 175.
