Although most of the board members are acquainted with the history of the Nittany Lion, there may be a few that aren’t and fine the article interesting.

The Nittany Lion grew to be the ultimate symbol of Penn State, but even by the 1950s it was not quite the same as today’s Lion.

Appreciate your post. Is it any coincidence that the Nittany Lion was adopted in 1904, and little brother decided to have the same animal as a mascot 5 years later?

I would not want to cross paths with a Tasmanian Devil - small but VERY nasty little guy that wouldn't back down from a Panther or a Lion.
