Dang, Fleming runs a 4.72 forty. Ouch. Kimber, KJ, and Kobe run good times.

I have to say, a 4.72 isn't going to get it done at WR and I understand the lack of productivity.

yes it seems the only reason he was getting stats at OSU was the fact that he was always 1 on 1 against their 3rd or 4th DB or going against a zone.

That's a shocker. I mean 4.6 would be pretty slow for a WR, unless your're Megatron or Mike Evans, but 4.72? Time to look for another line of work.

...and a pretty good blocker, but just lacking in speed and explosiveness. Too much hype from high school?
That 40 time is awful for his position. He was a good and very willing blocker. It is hard to imagine him getting drafted. A free agent signing who makes his living as a special teamer might be possible, but still a long shot IMO.

4.72? Yikes
He needs to be an elite route runner that never drops a ball to get drafted with that--he's not those things. Explains why there was never separation. The DBs could job to keep up

Which is exactly what he faced here. I don't remember any teams shifting coverage to account for him.

Our offense was poorly designed for a WR1; much less a guy who split reps at WR3. The fact he never broke through to 1 or 2 spot speaks more volumes than anything, but this offense was terrible for anybody past WR1.

Perhaps he couldn't get to the ball in time.

I never understood going after Fleming in the portal and I never will.
Because we had zero talent at the position
Because the staff was familiar with him
Because he was semi-productive at an elite program
Not sure what you wanted. I'm sure we went after other guys and wouldn't pay then enough. Just like we failed miserably adding receivers this year.
