Please click on the picture for a more brilliant view of the diamonds. ;) I got to wear Quentin Wright's National Championship ring and the weight of diamonds... felt like 197 lbs.

How do Iowa, Ok. St., tOSU, and other top programs stack up relative to number of NCAA individual titles?

My guess is there isn't as big of a gap here as the Penn State difference is on scoring bonus points resulting in team success. Is this correct?

Iowa has 6 individual titles (McDonough 2x, Metcalf, Borschel, St. John, Ramos)
Okie St. has 8 individual titles (Oliver 2x, Perry 2x, Dieringer 3x, Heil)
Ohio St. has 7 individual titles (Stieber 4x, Tomasello, Snyder, Martin)
and PSU with 11 individual titles (Ruth 3x, Taylor 2x, Wright 2x, Megaludis, Retherford, Brown, Molinaro)

Ok rub it in LOL.
Go back and check how many Okl State and Iowa had from 1953 till now. Your place is on a run but till u win 15 big ten titles in a row and have 24 NCAA titles maybe could show some humble yet,;)

Edit...Since Ohio State and Iowa won big ten in 2015 you now have one in a row in big ten.
Also since Ohio State won NCAA in 2015 u have now won one in a row at NCAA and have eight more to tie Iowa with nine in a row.

Purely for Finalists the last 7 years the stats are.. (forgive me if I miss any, going off of memory)
Iowa: 16 (McDonough 3x, Marion 2x, Clark 2x, St. John 2x, Ramos 2x, Dennis, Metcalf, Gilman, Sorensen, Borschel)

Okie St: 13 (Oliver 3x, Dieringer 3x, Perry 2x, Kindig, Rosholt, Heil, Foster, Caldwell)

Ohio st.: 10 (Stieber 4x, Snyder 2x, Tomasello, Heflin, Palmer, Martin)

PSU: 22 (Taylor 4x, Ruth 3x, Wright 3x, Megaludis 3x, Brown 2x, Molinaro 2x, Retherford, Nolf, Nickal, McIntosh, Vallimont)

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't hear PSU fans saying that we have the best wrestling program ever. In fact, in this post, it clearly talks about the last 7 years. When Villanova won the NCAA basketball championship on Monday, should they not have celebrated because UNC had won so many more over time?

Yes I believe they did celebrated but get u r point. No you can't speak for everyone but just read some of the post ok I'm not here to argue just saying enjoy the ride while u can and if you beat them results good for Penn State but some of your fans seem to think that Cael and your program have invented or revented wrestling.

The Hawks have made their mark in wrestling as an elite program. Penn State may never have more national championships than the Hawkeye's. I agree.

That said, I am sick and tired of your (Hawkeye fans) talking this bullshit about how we are "new comers." Penn State not only won a nation championship before Iowa did, but they were a factor in wrestling long before you were born. Maybe you should check out the recent Intermat article:

"The wrestling program at Penn State is one of the most enduring of all in the collegiate mat world. The Nittany Lions first took to the mat in 1909, wrestling just one dual meet … losing to Cornell University. (It was one of only eleven losing seasons in a century of Penn State wrestling.) "

We won our first national championship over 20 years before Iowa did. Yet we are new comers? What a crock of shit!

You are a good poster here and are very respectful. But, in this case, you are just flat out wrong about us being being new to the sport. So kindly STFU in this area, OK?

Myles Martin is one more

not that it matters but Martin was left out as a finalist and a winner for Ohio St. I know, I can't believe it myself.

And we used to be the state with the most grappling talent and still are. I don't recall the coaches name from the 50's (I think OK. St.) but he said if you keep talent at home Ohio St. and PSU would be wrestling for the title annually. Pa. has pro teams also (excuse me 76er's). Iowa has _____.

We have the best wrestling program ever. Nobody cares about Oklahoma A and M. Let's get with it folks. It's 2016, 1953 was forever ago.
