It was the best performance by the Penn State secondary I've seen in a long time in a big game. Jaquan Brisker is one of the top safeties in the country and he put together an All-American performance today. Brisker and Ji'Ayir Brown have the potential to be the top safety combination in the Big Ten for the rest of the 2021 football season.

What makes Brisker and Brown exceptional and such a successful safety combination is their ability to play tough against the pass and the run. They have exceptional ball skills and both Brisker and Brown can step down in the box and be physical against the run. I really have to commend Brisker on his interception with just a little over two minutes left in the game, he anticipated that Graham Mertz would try to get the ball to his All-Big Ten TE Jake Ferguson [6-5, 244]. That was the result of Brisker being aware of what Wisconsin loves to do with the passing game in the red zone.

You also have to pay attention to the game SDE Arnold Ebiketie [6-3, 256] had. He proved that he's much more than just pass rusher. Ebiketie was all over the field putting pressure on Mertz, but he was also exceptional against the run. Wisconsin's LT Tyler Beach [6-5, 312] had no answer for Ebiketie explosive first step off the snap at the line of scrimmage.. This is a Penn State defense has a chance to be elite before the end of the 2021 season.
