Basketball Penn State's Seth Lundy as projected as a second round pick

Wow, great for him. Pretty big payday and a very good shot at sticking around
I don't see it. Tony Carr was drafted in the 2nd round but didn't stick.

Lundy is a good shooter and a big strong body but he's not effective going to the basket.

It will be interesting to see what he decides. I still think he may come back if Micah can maybe get an honest scouting report from Brad Stevens and then demonstrate to Seth how he can grow his game (and draft prospects).

Being the clear #1 option next year should make Seth elevate performance possibly to an NBA likely level vs the maybe he is now. Big difference $$$$

Agree, he will have to quickly develop ability to take the ball off the dribble to the basket unless the NBA is projecting him as a smallish "4".

Seems like in the NBA he'd be a smallish "2" or "3". He can't be more than 6'5" and maybe only 6'4".

Players that look big in college mostly look small in the NBA. And Lundy looks small in college.

My guess is if he’s going to be drafted he will leave. If he in fact does want to have a bball career, he probably feels he’s spent enough time in college.

Definitely can see that angle. He has been through some pretty awful times and transitions during his tenure at State.

The variables seem to be:

1) bonds with the guys he came in with and Shrew. He would be doing us a service if he came back. What is his likely payback? For every Brock and Wheeler there was a Harrar. Seth does seem very true PSU. Dorsey and Johnson may be gone if we go total rebuild...so who is he closely tied too to want to stay like John? IDK. Girlfriend maybe?

2) role in an offensive scheme to result in more scoring opportunities to build his offensive areas for growth. What % of our points are done after this year? My guess is around 70%. Plenty of shots to be had here if he wants them...

3) money....could an NIL to stay maybe help delay going into the draft? My guess is possibly...if the extra year results in increased "draftability." (Is that even a word?) Is $100,000 possible? That could work...

4) time...which I feel is the most important. Like many I was friends with....I took an extra Fall to graduate. While my graduated friends were whining about missing State College, I learned that PSU works in cycles...things l99k the same, but the people in the bar or fraternity party or dining hall change. When I left PSU in December of 1987 I was "done" and easily transitioned into my next phase. Is Seth feeling the same?

The more our hoops team changes...the more it feels like other years where we end up just short of NCAA and in or just short of NIT. Lamar Stevens- who likely is close with Seth since they are both Roman Catholic guys- was probably glad to have been a leader and have had us on the cusp of The Dance pre Covid. Did that personal growth help make him a better NBA prospect/player? If Lamar counsels to stay...that could be the deciding factor. Things have worked out very well for him.

With our luck Seth will announce a transfer to Gonzaga where he will replace Rashir Bolton in the starting line up of a Top 5 team. : ( Oh what could have been (the PSU basketball refrain).

We'll see.
