I hope that you or someone on your staff with the authority to comment will personally reply to this. I understand the importance of having administrators to help keep things in order on the discussion boards. And I understand this may require deleting certain threads or even banning certain posters. But it seems to me that administrators, of all people, should set the example of how respectful discussion should be conducted. When the administrator is actually degrading the quality of the board, something is very wrong.
As you may have seen, someone recently made a post questioning whether Saquon Barkley will eventually prove to be a better running back than Ki-Jana Carter. In my opinion, it’s a perfectly fair question. Speculation is fun, and it’s a big part of the content of this Website. For some reason, an administrator on this board felt the need to offer a sarcastic response that included calling the original poster the “worst poster on the board” and then later referred to the post as “dumb”. Later in the post, the administrator admitted to addressing the original poster by the name of a TV character with Down’s Syndrome! As another subscriber put it, the administrator is a bully.
Phil, I hope you or someone on your staff will personally give us a definitive answer as to whether this is acceptable behavior from a so-called board administrator. If it is, then I will regretfully cancel my subscription after 15 years. If it is not, then I assume you will set this straight, and we will see no more of this behavior in the future.
I love your work, Phil, and I have a lot of respect for you. But I would hate to see this Website degenerate into a forum where a staff-appointed administrator has free reign to bully paying subscribers.
