Another embarrassing bowl loss for Pitt. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fan base. When was the last time Pitt won a meaningful bowl game? Seriously? Over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl with Marino?

What's so embarrassing about losing to #21 Navy who is 11-2?

We're about to get slaughtered by Georgia. Might want to stay off the board for a few hours after our game.

To Pitt's credit, it wasn't like last year when they lost in the biggest come from behind win in bowl history. This year they sucked for about 59:50 and a loss for them was never in doubt.

Hey Pitt2009 where were all those awesome pitt fans at? You know the ones that were filling the streets and bars of Annapolis? I missed them while I was there...rooting for Navy.
I wouldn't have said it was embarrassing but since some of you morons were over here last night pounding your chests instead of talking about it on YOUR OWN BOARD it became and epic embarrassment sort of like last years bowl game. LOL

It was the way you lost. Down 31-7 at one point. That's getting blown out big time to a non-power 5 school. Pitthetic.
Penn State got blown out by a non power 5 school too. Both Penn State and Pitt are average programs right now.

Actually nothing, were it not for a lot of Pitt people, here and elsewhere, who refused to consider the possibility of a loss. Sort of like some posters here, in advance of the Temple game, who thought we would blow Temple out and then wound up with egg on their face. I'm still wiping the dam stuff out of my eyes.:)

but I thought Pitt was the bestest team ever this year. and Narduzzi was the most awesomest coach ever.

remember when Pitt was 6-1 and ranked in the top 25?

I was at the parade and then the bowl game --- rooting for Navy of course. The Pitt fans were numerous and loud in the stadium. It was a good bowl game and a good experience. Pitt fans were generally low-key and well-behaved. They also have nothing to be embarrassed about. Navy fielded one of its strongest teams in its storied history. They were disciplined, senior-laden, well-coached in both O and D, and ready to take care of business. In sum, Pitt fans did travel well for this bowl and their fans were just like most CFB fans. Looking forward to our series with them and hoping we can be as good as Navy was this year.

To blow a big lead, you actually have to get a big lead. No luck with that this year.

Oh, I guess this is what 9WetDreams told us we should "tune in" for and "pay attention" because this ridiculous awesomeness was coming to visit Beaver Stadium in 10 months? Or perhaps it was to view Nardouchey's "Defensive Genius" close up as he gave up 590 Yards of Total Offense, 417 Rushing Yards and 44 Points with a month to prepare for a team that has been running Triple Option for ages.... Yea, that Nardouchey is quite the Defensive Genius alright, LMFAO.

Up for debate but it's kinda sad if you're arguing which loss is better.

PSU beat San Diego State which won the Mountain West Conference Championship Game as well as their bowl game to finish with 11 wins. Got bad news for you, the Mountain West is a better Conference than the American and Temple didn't even win the American, Houston did! What's rather sad is your trying to make Navy into some kind of invincible giant. At least we lost to Temple (who had every bit as good a year in the American as Navy did) in our first game rather than our last. What a typical ASWP small-time whiner whose mouth writes endless bad checks.

You should take your lumps tonight and drown your sorrows.

It's pretty hard to spin this loss. Yeah, a service academy can be a tricky game during the year -- they typically run a different offense than your conference foes. But.....having a month to prepare and allowing this kind of yardage and points.....uh, not good.

They had more than a month to prepare since Georgia Tech runs the same offense.

Shocking, a Pitt fan try to equate the two schools. Never mind that PSU is still under effects from the unjust sanctions, and Pitt is just Pitt.

PSU was beating Temple by 10 at half time. It got a bit out of hand at the end when PSU had to take some chances to try and get back in the game. That is not a blow out. A blow out is what happened to Pitt yesterday, being down 31-7 with the only score coming on a fluke KO return. Against a team that struggled to beat Army.

A few stats from yesterday's game:

Navy had 590 total yards. I'm no expert, but I tend to believe that pitt should have given up fewer yards.

Navy had the ball for 42:05. I'm no expert, but having the ball helps you score points. Not having the ball wears down your defense. Thus, I think pitt should have tried to have the ball more.

pitt had 3 turnovers. Navy had 1. I'm no expert, but pitt should have had fewer turnovers.

Actually, I believe Elaine's boss threw 4 INTs and ASWP had 4 TOs, not just 3....but that just supports your excellent point...ASWP should have tried to throw less interceptions

Plus Temple is better than Navy..

I agree that Temple is better than Navy. The service academies play essentially club football. They can't recruit like other universities and their 4-year commitment results in the best recruits shunning them.

There is no evidence that Navy is a good team. They beat: Colgate, East Carolina, UConn, Air Force, Tulane, South Florida, Memphis, SMU, Tulsa, Army, and Pitt. They lost to Notre Dame and Houston. Where is the evidence that they are any good? Their 11-2 record is a product of their putrid schedule. If Penn State played Navy's schedule we would be 12-1.

Navy is a farce and they hammered pitt.

We will have to agree to disagree. I think Navy is a very good team and We would have our hands full with them.
I think they would give Temple all they could handle. Temple shot their wad against us and never played any better the rest of the year.

Navy might be a top team but we will never know. They play such a weak schedule that their strength is unknown. They only played two good teams (Notre Dame and Houston) and lost to both. They didn't play any mid-level teams (say Northwestern for example) to get a read on how good they are. All of their wins were against garbage teams.
