I ventured over to the Pitt board and there's a thread where a poster calls Pickett a stud QB. Ok, here's how he did yesterday:
Yds 55
Att 18
Yds/Att 3.1
QBR 13.1

I have nothing against this kid, but he was simply ordinary yesterday. He made a few nice runs but showed nothing in the passing game. I was expecting much more based on the Kenny Football build-up. He might turn out to be really good, but he's very early in the process of becoming a legit P5 QB.

Not only that but also claimed Ollison is a stud RB and they have a stud defense. Guessing he thinks the Nardouche is a stud coach. Mental illness is a sad disease.

At the same time disparaging Trace.

Most of his passes yesterday completed were 10 yard lobs that were successful due to PSU playing a prevent D. I'm not sure he can throw a 30-40 yard pass.

SMF actually said that if you swapped the WR's Pitt would have won. He must have watched a different game cause the PSU WR's didn't play a particularly good game. What did they have like 7-8 drops?

I watched the game this afternoon, I was unfortunately out last night. I think your count of 7-8 is pretty accurate.....and it seemed every one of them were in the second half.

I know it was a wet game, but it’s CONCENTRATION.

I feel bad, Trace’s stats look very ordinary for the night. Throw in even another 5-6 completions, that would add another 100+ yds and another TD, that’s a GREAT night playing in that slop.

Right now the Lair Brain Trust is taking the obligatory standing 8 count.....and using the child abuse defense, while they formulate a fantasy that unfolds with them actually winning last nights game ......but being denied their due recognition of such. They are calculating many factors, weather, biorhythms, officiating, unusual activity in the solar system, uniform color, tarps, helmet decals and the like. I am confident by mid week that the LBT will have put last night's contest in the "win" column and claim yet another national championship.
Hope springs eternal on the Lair, where they alone stand as the guardians of "truth, justice and the American Way"

His eyes started to drop early in the game from the rush and once that happened we seemed to put 8 in the box to stop ollison who was who I was worried about- not Kenny Keychain

They one long pass by Pickett that we picked was a duck - people rip on Trace for arm strength but his throws look like Elway in his prime compared to Pickett’s - he looks like he has trouble getting it more than 30 yards in the air. I doubt he will scare any team with the long ball.

Are you sure he didn't mean Dud QB .... I'am just saying it's a Pitt fan spelling may not be his strong suit.

Quite honestly..from what I have read...those out of left field comments...are pretty much the exception...most are taking their game pretty realistically based on how it played out ...so picking isolated idiotic observations is not the norm ..and people getting on our receivers is somewhat unrealistic..the ball was wet..and a lot of TM’s passes ...while being catchable we’re also not like ‘hitting them between the numbers’ (with the exception of one to JJ) ... not sure anyone on this board sitting high and dry behind your computer woulda caught any of those balls either.

Most (maybe not all but certainly a large majority) of the drops were VERY catchable balls, dry or wet weather.
