Any word or rumors on who if any Pittsburgh radio station will carry PSU football this fall.

There have been some reports that KQV might return, broadcasting out of McKeesport. I think their tower is gone, that real estate proving to be more valuable as something other than an am radio tower, but I suppose they could piggyback on someone else's tower. Here's a message board thread about it: http://www.voy.com/187343/

I think that 970 AM is still sports talk, they'd seem like a likely candidate. You can probably forget about being on the fm dial, I can't see any of those stations carrying it unless maybe you can put together a patchwork of the suburban stations.

The station has been sold to the folks who own WEDO in McKeesport, and the plan is to transmit from WEDO's antenna since the sale did not involve KQVs transmitter and antenna site, just basically the licence and call letters.

Be funny if KDKA-AM would carry them again, since KDKA-FM is the official name for 93.7, the Pitt flagship.

Whoever it is I hope their signal carries into the Pittsburgh suburbs into the evening! KQV was terrible post sunset when they reduced their signal strength.

Yes. I heard that video killed the radio star.

Actually they didn't reduce power, but went into a directional pattern, which really hurt it's coverage area at night..And it will be even worse when it comes back at reduced power under the new owners. It will be basically useless to Pittsburgh at night.

I think the PSU site should have an updated list of their network affiliates. I always have secondary and tertiary options saved in my phone notes if I know I will be driving during part of the game (i prefer radio anyway).
