This game can't come soon enough. Wish these kids could lace it up and go play tomorrow already!
We all know our defensive line will need to step up in a huge way as their O Line is preseason number 1 in the ACC. But what other match ups are you guys looking forward to watching?
Looking at their defense outside of Jordan Whitehead I don't see too much. But the matchup I'll be paying as much attention to as any, is their d ends against our offensive tackles. They have a defensive end (Ejuan Price) who was 1st team all ACC coming back after being granted a medical 6th year. Then on the other side they are predicted to start a transfer from Tennessee (Dewayne Hendrix). Hendrix is an unknown but price is an undersized beast. Not gonna blow you alway physically but has a high motor and use's his lack of height to his advantage when rushing the passer. If we slow them down I can see us having all kinds of success.
On offense they don't have much outside of a running game. Their receivers are very average (below average) as they lost Boyd and Holtz, while having very little behind them. I hope we load up the box and take chances in the back end. We are playing with a loaded secondary. Guys like Garret Taylor, John Reid, Grant Haley, and Christian Campbell should be able to match up very well against their bums outside. If we can put an extra body in the box and get them to 3rd and long we will have lots of success. Just gotta win 1st and 2nd down!
Of course things can change from now and then. It's only May. We get nothing from playing these guys, blah blah blah. We are playing them, so let's kick their ass!
