I'd like to see as many active duty personnel at the Army game as can make it. Remember many of these young men and women are just kids, and it will be a thrill for them to come to Beaver Stadium and enjoy our hospitality and visit our tailgates. Makes for a great game day atmosphere. It's a priveledge to be able to host any of the service academies.

Anyone know if all active duty military are eligible or only enlisted and junior officers? I.E., is there an economic threshold of sort?

I'm sure the ticket office would know how they get distributed. I believe it's all active duty military.

How do you do this? Is this for season ticket holders who can turn their tickets back in, or is it something I can donate money somewhere?

I found this info when I googled it. I had received an email from Penn State ticket office about it about a week ago. You can just pay $35 per ticket, no need to donate your own seats.
----–-----------------------------------------------------------------

For the fourth year, the Seats for Servicemembers program will salute everyone who's served in uniform with free tickets for the Penn State/Army football game this fall.

There will also be a complimentary pregame tailgate at the Bryce Jordan Center across the street from Beaver Stadium.

The football tickets are available to active duty servicemen and servicewomen, veterans and Gold Star families.

The giveaway is meant to honor "the commitment and sacrifices of veterans, families and loved ones."

The tickets are donated by supporters who pay $35 for each seat.

The free tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis for the Oct. 3 game.

Those who are eligible may qualify for one complimentary ticket for themselves and three additional complimentary seats for immediate family members. Up to five additional tickets are available for $35 per person. Click HERE to take part in the Seats for Servicemembers program.

Penn State hosted 5,500 military members for the Temple game last season.

So far, more than 5,000 Seats for Servicemembers tickets have been donated. You can make a donation online by clicking HERE or by calling 1-800-NITTANY during normal business hours.

Explain to me again why the PSU Athletic Department can't donate the unsold tickets? Why are they asking season ticket holders and the general public to purchase these seats that could be just handed over? I want our servicemen and servicewomen there for the game but this smells like a moneygrab.

First, to Nittany 18, good luck and be safe. Hope you can make it in the future. Re:money grab? At $35 per ticket, the discount PSU is giving is significant. I'm not going to get into this argument which comes up every time a donation is requested. I'm just glad they do this and I am happy to help a serviceman or vet. It's your money, you can choose for yourself.

Nitwit thanks for the link. I wasnt sure if i would be able to make it before i deploy but the it looks good timing wise. What a great gesture. Air Force rotc 98 Grad currently at Langley afb. WE ARE.....

At $35 this is actually $2 more than psu was charging for the 3 pack of tickets. It was $99 for buffalo, army and sdsu.

But you have to buy 3. What's your point? ACME sells 3 packs of hotdogs for $12.99 but charges $4.99 for one. Happens all the time. Who cares? You don't want to help a serviceman, then don't bother. As I said, it's your money. Sheesh

Simmer down, Francis. You said it was a discount. I corrected you and said it wasn't. You can leave it at that. I said nothing about whether it's a worthy cause or not.

and just so I hope I didn't give the wrong impression, I too think this is a worthy cause... I will be calling 1-800-NITTANY on Monday to purchase two seats for our servicemen.
