I was a bit surprised that NATO got most outstanding wrestler. Isn't the #1 kid supposed to beat #4? Not surprised by the BTN crew with their tOSU bias. Who do you think was the most outstanding wrestler on Friday? Give your reasons why in the thread.

I'd have to go with Mouse honestly given that Courts is a returning AA at 84 (5th place) and Mouse absolutely dominated him....huge RT-Adv and Courts was quite simply never in the match. That ride that Mouse put on him in the 3rd was impressive...Courts looked like he might escape a couple times but Mouse stayed on him like honey-badger that hasn't eaten in a week!

Tie between JC and Mouse. That would have been my award. If Nato had put on a 3 or 4 offensive takedown show and beat Nico say 7-4 or 9-5 I would have said Nato hands down. To win with one counter takedown while showing no attack the entire match doesn't win you anything to me.

Great choice, but I'd go with Conaway. I feel like if we lose that match momentum flips to OSU.
Hard to give a bad answer--no "wrong" answer

Tomasello did beat a 3XAA, 2X finalist and if he had ever money forward with a smidgen of agressiveness I would be fine with him getting the OW. However, forward and aggressive were 2 adjectives completely inappropriate to use to describe Tomasello's wrestling Friday night.

Conaway spotted a decent kid a 4 spot and then dominated him.
Jason completely destroyed a 1-loss kid.
Bo Nickal spotted a good kid a 4-1 lead and then won the last 1:45 10 to 1.
Matt beat a returning AA who had beaten him twice previously.
M Jordan beat a returning AA and actually moved forward with agressive intentions a few times.

Any one of those 5 before Tomasello.

Using that logic, no one should be declared the outstanding wrestler. The higher ranked wrestler won every match. The #1 Tomasello vs #4 Megaludis was the closest match on paper going by the rankings.

Frankly, who cares?

We won.

We beat a top five team.

Yet, it seems that the dominant threads aren't about our win. Instead we're whining and crying about an Ohio State bias, that the Iowa press release is celebrating that they clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title, or that other fans say our coaches are all recruiting, no coaching.

I think the perpetual chip on the shoulder, tin foil hats and tortured artist syndrome are preventing people from actually enjoying their own team and program.
