Next year might be a tough one, we might lose 5 or even 6, but that doesn't have to spell doom. What PSU needs is some structure and systems. For years we have suffered for changing and not knowing our offensive identity.. "spread hd" "fullback lead" "set up the punt on 2nd down"
If we struggle but show some continuity and build some success, we will be fine. That's what makes our OC hire a good one. We need a guy who believes in something, and more importantly knows how to install and teach what he believes in (here is where I believe CJF is a zero, he simply not a superior coach, he is just another QB who never learned to scheme OL). Once he has some success we can identify and recruit to our needs, ie Wisconsin and Oregon.
Second most important is having your OC and OL coach on the same page. I can't stand "play callers".. anybody can call an appropriate run or pass, but most simply call the play and has no clue that that play won't work when your Right Tackle's hand is broken. The play callers says "let's send out 5 guys on every play, while the OC coach has to chug Maalox as the game goes to hell.
My prediction, Moorhead pulls us out of this.. my fear is down the road is when Moorhead takes the MAryland job and we are stuck with a CEO.
