Anyone believe Petrino is coming out clean in all this at Louisville? Imagine both men's basketball and football getting shut down.

I also believe at the end of the day the FBI will be at the NCAA's doorstep and that Emmert will also finally go down.

Wishful thinking. The NCAA is a money junkie which is dependent upon March Madness - and teams like Louisville - for it's yearly fix. They'll allow them to skate without suffering any major penalties.
They benefit from the fraud they failed to notice. What a happy coincidence!

Don't care too much what happens to Louisville. The Emmert thing would be nice but I have the feeling that sack of nuts is teflon. He's somebody's boy. He'll come out of this looking like a hero, judging by past performance. Some people are completely bulletproof and he has the look, manner, and history to be one of them.

All the guys who have that look are not bulletproof...they just look and act like it. Let's hope a stray round sneaks past the Kevlar on this prick.

Actually this might be the best thing for Petrino. All attention will be on Pitino, the AAU/ Adidas payment scandal, and the obligatory rehashing of Pitino's scandals with the waitress affair/ abortion, hookers for recruits/ players, and now this payoff scandal. It provides cover for Petrino so long as he doesn't step in anything new now.

Add to that the Louisville President replaced, the basketball coach and AD about to be fired in 10/30 days and the NCAA circling around the blood in the water. The new Prez isn't going to want football brought in too.

They had a TV talk show earlier today on which Jim Jackson (former tOSU and NBA guard) and Eric Dickerson were participants. When asked about his school (SMU) getting the death penalty, Dickerson noted that SMU was the only school that had been so penalized, and complained that it was unfair. He then opined that, if any school ever deserved the death penalty, "it was Penn State." He then went on to discuss Pitino and the other guys arrested, and concluded that "everyone does it." Some people are just born stupid.

No one has ever accused Eric Dickerson of being intelligent.

When you combine the cheating scandals of the football and basketball programs at Miami, Louisville and Baylor in the recent past, it is really a sin that much of the general public perceives Penn State as the bottom of the barrel thanks to our wonderful leadership.

I totally agree. Now, we should just embrace being the "bad Boys" of college football and kick everyone's a$$. Nothing left to do. Franklin gets it.

Apparently cbs says Pitino is coach 2 in the FBI probe- that he had a role in providing $ to recruits. If true, he can't hide behind 'I didn't know' about his assistants and the Louisville program, already on probation, is in real trouble.

EDIT: Apparently some Louisville radio station is reporting Pitino is not coach 2 (in response to the cbs report this AM).

Louisville hoops puts way to much $$$$ in NCAA pockets..since 88% of their operating budget comes from the tournament they will do zippo! What did the NCAA do to UNC? Nothing! Emmert is a tool.

SMU is still angry about 1982 and have said little nice about PSU since then.

No.
The NCAA will not 'penn state' them and risk egg on their face, even on something that is in their purview. UNC taught us that.
Football is not Basketball which is perversely corrupted by AAU. I think is some concern that the 7 on 7 teams could become AAUs, but it is unlikely to rise to the level of AAU where one recruit can turn around the fortunes of a program.

You have that right. The message boards of other sites are calling for the NCAA to re-institute the Death Penalty on PSU. So don't be quick to judge (my edit was lost - advice in general not to poster.)

Tell em to bring it on. They got their fingers crushed the last time they poked them through that door. If not for the sort of lay down settlement Corman reached, Judge Covey was gonna whack NCAA but good. Don't think Marky Mark has the stones for it. At this point, he himself will be lucky to stay out of jail

Football is not Basketball which is perversely corrupted by AAU AND the complicity of the NCAA. I think is some concern that the 7 on 7 teams could become AAUs, but it is unlikely to rise to the level of AAU where one recruit can turn around the fortunes of a program.
Fixed it for you.

We took a knee on the two yard line. Really disgraceful. Corman shizzed himself but good on that one, it's really unforgivable.
