Don't know why its so hard to grasp, but when someone gives strong and steady indications they are repetitive, overly negative, argumentative or just plain mean, the best reply is none at all.

Further "discussion" or argument, or trading insults only encourages more of the same, so IGNORE is another option.
Maybe Im just lazy, but wasting time on someone who wont change their stripes is well, wasted time, IMO.
