That is very interesting. The impact of this will depend upon the balance of compensation between NIL and the school. If the bulk of the compensation for a specific player still comes from NIL, the impact of the rule will be far less than what we would hope.

Wouldn’t that greatly cut down transfers? If a kid has million dollar buy out plus you have to pay him that will cut it way down.

And if a kid is not getting playing time the school could waive the buyout to free up a scholarship.
