Pre Season Coaches Poll...LOL!

I just looked twice and I can't find Pitt or Rutgers on this list. Anyone else find them there?

Two serious questions.
1. Do you think the coaches actually cast the votes on this, or is someone else in the respective football offices in charge of voting?
2. And, this may be answered by your response to Q-1; does anyone think coaches give two poops about the polls?

Win, and you will rise to the top. I am guessing if a team started at #14 and had a surprise year going undefeated, the rise in the polls would take care of itself, and the July 30 poll would be like brown stuff on a white turkey.

I heard Robert Smith on college sports XM today saying that PSU was a dark horse that could surprise people. He said we will be better than people think.

Amazing how far Texas has fallen, in a handful of years.

Only 8 votes on the coaches poll. Guessing most are from the coaches in their conference.

Seems like TAMU really leapfrogged Texas in recruiting, when they bolted for the SEC. Plus other SEC teams may be much better able to poach Texas high school players who once seemed to be locks for UT.
If Texas would have hired James Franklin they would have been a threat to bag the number one recruiting class every year. Can you Imagine CJF loose in a state with all that talent?

I totally agree with Smith. The Buckeyes have a few alum who do a very good job in Smith, Speilman and Herbie.

Zero votes for Rutgers. Wonder who Flood voted for? Of course their board is focused on who did get votes. They can't imagine how a "Putrid team like Penn State" could get 20 votes and be just a bit outside the top 25.
