Hi Laurie, I have a question I'm trying to ask all the Alumni Council candidates: if elected, will you stop back to this forum occassionally and give us updates on what's happening with the Penn State Alumni Association?

One of my biggest disappointments with all of the current elected members of Alumni Council - with the exception of Deb Beidel - is that it is impossible to contact them - and even when I did got out of my way to ask them two questions only one responded (http://bit.ly/1F8i2UU).

I understand your disappointment with most of the current elected members of Alumni Council... as I have heard from members who are active with alumni and continue transparency.... many on alumni council are only on the council for the free football tickets and parties... VERY SAD!... I ... am not one to become elected for such pitiful reasons. If elected I will be open to any and all questions from my fellow alumni. After all, I would be a Penn State alumni elected representative and therefore, it will be my responsibility and privilege to represent and listen....

FWIW - I did not receive a ballot this year (even though - on the EXACT SAME DAY that the ballots were supposed to come out - I DID receive a solicitation in my e-mail from the Alumni Society....soliciting "gifting")

I asked Laurie for some help, and she directed me to the VoteNet number 866-307-0041. I left a message at that number, and got a call back from them later in the day, and my ballot a few hours later.
