Recently a group of former and present, notable Penn Staters gathered with their fellow fraternity brothers at Toftress Golf Resort to reminisce and discuss the future of Penn State football They all thought this year's Nittany Lions have a great prospect of making the College Football Playoffs.

There are former athletes from several different sports seated at the table.

Can you recognize any of these "youngsters?"

I'll provide the identity of one of the non-sport members of the gathering. Seated first, on the left side of the table is a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees - Rick Dandrea Esq.

The Spin Meister's observation that all pictured are "too old" is correct. I know all of these guys pictured and I am having difficulty recognizing about half of them due to their aging. However, we are all fortunate to still be alive after years of facing COVID and other life risks. imo

What is very strange for me is if I bump into someone that I haven’t seen for decades I never recognize them until I hear them talk.

Then, usually in just seconds, the face suddenly looks familiar. Strange how the voice unlocks such memories.

Dickie (how appropriate) is a former trustee. Recall that he wanted to eliminate ALL of the alumni-elected trustees. I'm surprised Tim would have a drink with that coward.

And 86Engineer's comment illustrates a root cause of today's societal troubles. One must learn to respect differing viewpoints and attempt to live in peace. Friendships should be more important than politics. imo

Besides, how often do you see a politician or bureaucrat seek to vote himself out of his position?

To be terse, everybody mentioned is "former" lol Continuing down the left side of the table, after Tim Curley:

Standing, Steve Buxton - Athletic Trainer.

Woody Petchell - Football tailback - the first freshman to travel with the Penn State varsity

Nick Donato - Football defensive back and long-time High School Head Football Coach

At the table's end, Tom Kehan - First Team All-American soccer player

From the front right side of table:

seated third - Jeff Kendal, tennis player

seated sixth, the ever-smiling - Robert "Killer" Lipowski, tennis player

My post had nothing to do with politics or differing viewpoints, so I really don't know what you're talking about.

Dickie was heavily involved in The Second Mile and all too happy to transfer the blame for Sandusky to Penn State. Some friend he is/was.

There's no Robert Windsor... But there is a Robert Funk seated second on the right. He's the older brother of my best friend while attending Fox Chapel High School, and sent me this photo. He's retired on his ranch down here in Texas, after being General Manager of General Electric Oil & Gas and then working for a Private Equity firm.

Like I said... POLITICS... Of course, officials & "power brokers" pointed the blame on poor Jerry Sandusky and quickly closed up the Second Mile charity without its investigation. That's how CORRUPT Pennslvania's government & politics are. IMO And precisely why I will never move back on a moral basis. BTW, where do you live?

To be honest, that really isn’t about politics. It’s about criminal behavior and how the revelations and accusations were handled.

It’s my guess that people all across the political spectrum were involved in how badly it was handled.

No doubt, but it was a political decision to criminally cover-up the darkest of secrets. imo
By happenstance, I knew the janitor who "saw something" but later couldn't testify because he developed Alzheimer's. Before working for the University, Jim worked maintenance for the apartments my girlfriend's dad owned in State College. He was a proud Vietnam vet, strong as an ox, and honest as a day is long.

I see Tim Curley but can’t place any of the others.
I was hoping Curley would do more to clarify what happened re Sandusky after he served his sentence. I guess he just wants to keep his mouth shut and live out his life at this point.

Yes, it seems that when someone goes through a very traumatic experience in life, most times they try to forget about the matter and go on with life. As fate would have it, my uncle - Tom Kearney was a co-founder, VP & Secretary General of the World Trade Centers Association in New York. I have asked him once he would even talk about 9/11, whether he would like to set the record straight by telling his version of events before he passes, as he is the lone surviving insider member of that tragic day. He said, "Some things are better left unsaid."
