Anyone else have any issues with selling parking passes or tics for Ball St. Myself and another season ticket holder were scammed by a Stubhub buyer in State College. The parking passes are in lot 18 and 44. I’m trying to locate the other ticket holder to share additional info.

I have identified the State college residents name and address. He has been reported to the State College PD and the PSU Athletic Dept. Please let me know if this sounds familiar.

Can Stubhub help? I sold a few parking passes on Stubhub and they aren't paying out until several days after the event (I think due to COVID and potential for event cancelations, etc.). If you report the fraud to Stubhub, I would hope that they would delay payment at least while investigating.

Are you sure you were scammed or your payment just delayed? I just got payment from Stubhub for the Ball St parking pass I sold. I have not received payment yet from Ticketmaster for the Ball St tix I sold. Make sure you were indeed scammed before you go f n someone because you may be uninformed.

I hear ya but it’s a scam.

How did a buyer scam you? Seriously, as I don’t understand how a buyer can scam you.

The only way I can think of if the buyer reports to stubhub that the tickets or passes were fake to get a refund. With Stubhub as a seller you put a credit card of file to be charged if there is a problem with the tickets you sold.

I have thought about the same thing. How could you prove that the buyer is lying in such a case? It's not like you can confirm that they actually used the parking pass (especially since it isn't scanned). I assume that as they need to call Stubhub prior to the event to complain (i.e., "I'm here and they won't accept this fake parking pass..." - after the fact loses some credibility on the part of the buyer).

I take a picture of the pass with the mailing manifest right before shipping (and save until after payment), but I suppose that doesn't prove anything. If it is a one-time thing, then the buyer probably gets away with it (and perhaps Stubhub just refunds the seller). If there is more than one complaint against either party, then perhaps that tips the scale.

I've used Stubhub for many years with no problem (including this season, where I just received payment for the Ball State parking pass I sold), but I guess there's always a few bad apples out there to be encountered.

PSU Nut pretty close! The buyer purchases two parking passes for the same event and cancels the orders stating that they received the incorrect item. You the seller are responsible for the cost and a fee. With the help of SCPD Stubhub has identified the strategy and individuals. Will be receiving a full refund this week. Apparently this has been going on quite a bit at other events. Just relaying the info that was provided to me from the authorities.

I have been using Stubhub for years and this is my first bad experience.

Thanks for explaining.

for ticket buyers, the CATA bus on game days is pretty good (or was two years ago). It is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to get away from the stadium depending on the lot used. But if you are buying tickets on game days, it may be easier to just get the ticket and forego the parking pass and use CATA

Agree. I love taking the bus now but they increased the fare to $2.20. LOL.

They just waved us on, no scanning
It wasn't bad at 11:30 on Saturday but it seems like people wanted to converse with workers during the scan ahead of us. Maybe a 20 minute wait for Lot 34 with not many vehicles.

We park in 34 and cruised right in at about 8:10 (early shot clock ya know!). Of course we didn’t go where directed but right to our usual spot by the first fence to the right.

Our friends were the hosts and didn't want to leave here until 9:00. 🤦‍♂️ Hoping for a 3:30 for Indy and we'll get a 6am start! 🍻

Glad to hear you are getting a full refund. I had a bad experience 2 years ago selling a parking pass for the East Deck for the Michigan game on Stubhub. I sold it to a guy in Florida. To be clear my beef was with Stubhub, not the buyer. I listed it the exact same way I saw East Deck parking passes on Stubhub. In 2019, East Deck was an ADA parking lot and overflow. Penn State made it clear that you could use the pass, if you did not have an ADA placard. I included a printout from GoPSUSports with this info highlighted with the parking pass. I did not see any way to make a note of this on the Stubhub listing. The buyer complained to Stubhub that misled the parking pass and the pass was returned via FedEx the day of the game. Stubhub hit me with essentially a fraud fee. I called Stubhub and gave the guy hell on the phone for over 30 minutes until they removed the bogus misrepresenting fee. I told him that I listed it the same way I saw other East Deck passes listings and what Penn State policy was for the East Deck with these parking passes that you are allowed to use it even if the individual who would need the ADA parking stays home for that game. I also mentioned it was also used for overflow parking for the game. He went on and on that I did not state that it was ADA. The only option was ADA Accessible under disclosures. Who the hell would think ADA accessible would tell someone that it is an ADA parking pass? I think I finally got my point across that I was not the one misrepresenting the parking pass but Stubhub was since they had East Deck listed as a parking lot and did not mention it as East Deck ADA like they list West ADA. Stubhub is great for buyers but only OK for sellers IMO. It is still better than other sites.
