If you're the staff you have to be happy, flipped a top Purdue kid and landed another one of their targets too. Plus don't sleep on Clary, he's small but I love his game.
Nice job, Shrew and staff.... they started with pretty much nothing and got these 5 to commit along with 5 transfers in a matter of 8 months. A much better place to begin from than what DeChellis and Chambers had.
This is an impressive first class (VERY impressive in PSU standards). This class may not be over yet... Really interested in seeing what the Pitt decommit does. He took an OV to us in July. Big time player
He would have been a nice get, but he isn't going to school in Bellefonte even if he's from there. He had offers from most of the Blue Bloods. A guy like that going to PSU over Duke would be like a 5-star football player going to Duke over PSU. The only difference is that a really good basketball player can have more of an impact on turning a team into a champion than one football player can. Maybe if Shrewsberry had been around for a few years and had some success here it might be possible to land a kid like this. But it would have to be quite a sales job to convince him to play for a first-time coach at a mid-Big Ten basketball school when he can play for maybe the best active coach at a Top 5 basketball school. I think Shrewsberry is off to a really nice start, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he's able to do this year.

Coach said something about two new players not able to play early in the season. I don't know what this is about or what the impact will be. Harrar can only play so many minutes.
Scott is having transfer issues and Greg Lee has a stress fracture... Out 4-5 more weeks - he was going to make an impact, so not ideal

I’ll dispute that, Through the years, there has been limited basketball talent outside of SE Pa., the only part of the state that has had increased population.
Of this 5 man class, two are from Phila. area. Both are going to real quality academic schools: Lower Merion HS and the Haverford School.
He can be a valuable athlete on the scout team? Idk much about him other than the fact he is simply a walk-on. However, if he was deserving, he would have been offered one of our multiple remaining ships, or been recruited by other P5 schools
He's not a bad player, but will likely be a scout player during his time at PSU. I don't expect him to be much more than that.
