Penn State Football has landed a commitment from transfer kicker / kickoff specialist Alex Felkins out of Columbia. He is a former class of 2019 prospect who was selected as a 2018 MaxPreps Small School First Team All-American Team along with the 2019 All-American Bowl as well.

Over the past four years with the Lions, Felkins went 36-of-54 with a long of 53 yards, but it was his specialty with kickoffs that stood out more than anything. Felkins finished with 91 touchbacks in 145 kickoffs, with an average of 60.4 yards per kickoff.

Very under-rated to have a guy that doesn't allow returns. We had been kind of spoiled there for a time..

But can he tackle? I believe Jake Pinegar has two this year, and he's no Joey Julius.

I just watched his YouTube video and he is straight up legit: kickoffs mostly landing 3 to 5 yards past the end line, totally non returnaexable, and field goals dead down the middle from both the near and far hash marks....this is one of those "needle in the haystack" gets and it's HUGE...

Lol 36-54 fg is not good

So you are criticizing Coach Franklin? Coach Franklin believes in him, so obviously you don't respect Coach Franklin and his choice.
No I’m criticizing you for saying this is huge. I trust the coaches but in no way can anyone say this is huge.

They can't all be down the middle if he's missed 1/3 of them.
I know the kickers have been an issue at times but has Penn State ever had a kicker that missed 1/3 of his field goals?

I think he is a kickoff specialist and MAYBE 50+ place kicker. Sander had trouble reaching the end zone on his kickoffs on his opportunities.

Welcome but this is a bit of a surprise as we also have the kid from Bethlehem ready to take over for Penegar next season.

Although I looked up Sander's kickoff stats and he looks to be on average a little further than this guy. But I don't think this guy is our placekicker unless Sander portals.

So, they’ve given up on Sander Sahaydak?

Pinegar still has a covid year but with this signature I am certain he's leaving too.

Why not, everyone else is. Smh.

Not necessarily. He's a PWO. These kids don't count against the 85. Had it been a scholarship given, that would have been something to read into.
