I'm heading up to Lehigh later today with a friend (Lehigh grad) for the match tonight. I looked at the PSU roster and saw a bunch of unfamiliar names. I know we lost some great wrestlers from last year and dropped a match last week to ASU.

What should I expect to see tonight? Does Lehigh have a shot at an upset?

You probably don't recognize some guys because a few guys are injured and our starting 197lber is a transfer.

157lbs - Brady Berge suffered a head injury competing internationally in freestyle a few weeks before the season. He was knocked out during a match and is still recovering. You'll probably see backup Bo Pipher (who is really a 149lber) wrestling at 157lbs until the new year if I had to guess.

184lbs - Shakur Rasheed suffered a torn ACL last season. He is not cleared medically to participate yet but probably will be some time in January or later. Right now Creighton Edsell is manning the weight.

197lbs - Kyle Conell transfered in from Kent State. He finished 3rd at the 2018 NCAA tournament but suffered a shoulder injury last year in his first match and was done for the year. He transferred to PSU after the season.

Lehigh has a shot. They are well coached and wrestle conservatively. That is, they stall well.

Also, Stabler Arena is in the middle of nowhere, and traffic always backs up. Be sure to allow some time for traffic.

Lehigh's web site even warns about possible traffic and backups. We'll be at Taps Tavern before the match.
