I just saw MSU run a down curl off a screen......is this a legal play? Based on PSU offense I am used to watching, I thought this was against the rules.
I was also wondering........why does Lamar Stevens ever think it's EVER a good idea to shoot a 3 point shot???
I doubt Sandy gets rid of Pat due to the cost of the buy out. Sandy doesn't give a shit about basketball proof both coaches are doing nothing positive and they are still employed. I am embarrassed for the players. This game is a joke. Pat recruited well but failed in developing the talents of these young men. At least they'll get a degree from a great college . The black curtains worked nicely today hiding the upper level seats.
Recruits great athleticism but they have little or no concept of how the game should be played. Like an AAU summer league. One on one. And PC doesn’t coach ‘em up.

For some reason I continue to waste my time going to every game. That said, we had a decent crowd and the refs were noticeably wearing green.
Don’t know how you can blame anything in the refs. To daw found you got to go inside. PSU has no inside game. They also no offensive sets or very few.
It’s a shame they can’t put a relevant competitive team on the court. It would be a nice thing to take FB recruits to on their visits, instead they take them to hockey games or wrestling matches, which there's nothing wrong with that, just saying that basketball is a more popular sport. The MBB program is like that room in your house that’s a mess and you try to keep guests from seeing it
Bach, Harter, Parkhill, etc. didn’t have athletic kids like those being recruited by Chambers. Many years we had a roster with no one who could dunk.
In my opinion, poor performance is on the coaching staff.
Just for information, name a group pre-Chambers as athletic as kids he’s brought in.
Not blaming anything on the officiating, just a comment that it was one sided. That is not why PSU lost, but it did not help.
Typical. You moved the goal posts. You said great athleticism not better athletes than we’ve had before. Your post overemphasized our athletes. Not a huge deal if you don’t double down on drama queen stuff.
There aren't any, except maybe the group at the tail end of Parkhill and the beginning of Dunn. That 12 month period when we were actually a top 25 team.
But that makes it even worse. Pat should be winning.
I don't agree with the posters who don't think Sandy will fire Pat. She didn't even hire him in the first place. There is no way she cares about keeping him. She probably could have fired him for shoving the player. She suspended him, which is not good for Pat's future. If he finishes near last place, plus the shoving incident, there's little chance he comes back.
We have no idea what that suspension might have triggered in terms of the contract. PSU may have been setting themselves up to fire Pat more cheaply
Rutgers and Illinois (though asking a lot for PSU “basketball fans” to know that).
The offensive sets between MSU and us were night and day. MSU runs a lot of nice sets for open looks and is able to knock down shots when they get the looks. PSU simply cannot shoot! It doesn’t matter how open they are or where the shot comes from....they cannot shoot. They have yet to score more than 64 pts in any B1G game this season, failing to get out of he 50s in the majority of them. The best defense in the country couldn’t win with offense like that.
Don’t believe so, though Bolton looks like he’s running on fumes and we’re just entering mid-January.
Thanks. Interesting that the transfer has pushed ahead of them so soon after he was allowed to play. I know he was a scorer in HS so hopefully he can help Stevens with that. Havent seen him play personally but I would assume he would be a pretty good outside shooter and can space the floor?
There is no rhythm to their attempts to shoot either due to the lack of sets. The offense is either one on one play or a frantic attempt off of a scramble play.
It's frustrating how Bolton receives the ball and immediately hoists it up. It often appears there is no attempt to gather himself and focus on the rim. Somewhere along the way he has determined that he has the green light at all times with no regard to the situation.
I think the biggest issue is with Bolton. He tries to be the hero all the time. He isn't ready for the role they threw him into.
Is there another Capel out there, that would come to PSU?

This would be PSU best bet. Find an assistant from a bigger school. He probably only be here for a few years but he could build it. One thing about Pitt tho. No reason to think they weren’t going to get better. They have had recent success.
