NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. -

Football is filled with terms from war.

‘Battle in the trenches.’ ‘aerial attack,’ and ‘outflanking the opponent’ are just a few.

Wednesday, Penn State got a real life taste of life in the armed forces.

The Nittany Lions visited Naval Station Mayport, including the HSM 40 Airwolves.

One of the squadron’s pilots played football at the Naval Academy. Even he has to laugh at the size of some of the Nittany Lions.

"I feel pretty small around these guys,” Lt. Paul Bridgers. “I was an average sized guy at Navy which we tend to be smaller football players. I could barely fit in the helicopter. Watching Carl get in, I think his head was touching the helicopter with the seat all the way down, so it was pretty amusing."

The Carl he referred to is of course is All-American Carl Nassib who stands at 6’7 and weighs 270 pounds.

On the field, Nassib is healthy again after missing most of the last two weeks of the regular season.

I did a cruise on a carrier a few years back. I'm 5'9 and approx 210 and I struggled with mobility in the berthing rack. Hit my head off of the same pipe in the same stairwell prob 6 times.

Can't imagine anyone taller than me living comfortably on any of those ships.
