Question on NCAA Seeding Formula

Hey all,

Signing up here ala McScorely because the 247 board is hit or miss on wrestling (and apparently there are a lot of basketball fans(!) on there for some reason. I made one joke about basketball sucking when the game went well over that was not well received, so clearly not true wrestling fans).

Anyway it’s my understanding that the NCAA seeds come out on Wednesday sometime. My question is if there is another coaches ranking/RPI set released between now and then?

My initial thought is the last set was already released, but if it has then the seeding formula sucks since 25% of it is coaches ranking and RPI. Some wrestlers like Cassar considerably helped themselves this weekend in those categories..there must be another release, right? Wednesday just seems like a quick turnaround for both to happen. I tried looking, but Google only finds me past releases.

In all my years of running brackets I believe Cassar will get the #1. He has a win over the #1 while gable has a win over #3 (at the time) white and white has a win over #2(at the time) Cassar.

Coaches and seeding committees seem to have a who's hot or what have you done lately mentality. Should help raptor.

There is another set of RPI and Coaches Ranking done before seeds are run. They don't seem to get as widely publicized as the other sets, but they do exist.

I believe the RPI/coaches ranking are released at the same time as the seeding. The field needs to be established before seeding can begin.
