I know scouts and scouting is far from an exact Science and many people do not like the the star ranking system. Now I know that some guys are obviously great and its easy to rank them. But with certain three star players I dont know what particular things besides the obvious they exactly look at and the rankings between the four agencies can be all over the place.
Two Examples: Robert Windsor and Antonio Shelton. Both of there videos were very impressive. We already know Windsor is going to be good. So with his size, impressive film, and measurables why were we like the only big school to offer him, until Wisconsin came in at the end. And I always here will look at the competition they are going against. But that is the same for everyone, even five star guys. So what did the scouts see in Windsor that they did not like?
Then Antonio Shelton. Just like Windsor he has the size, quickness, and impressive film. Yet he wasn't even really ranked by Rivals. So what was missing the scouts did not like in him? I'm going to throw three names out there that we were recruiting at DT, all of whom were all ranked much higher than Shelton. Mike Pasniuk, Kyree Campbell, and Naquan Jones. I think Sheltons film may be better than all of them, or at least its close. But yet his offer sheet was also not impressive like Windsor.
So if someone can elaborate and give me there opinion, and you don't have to be a professional scout to do so, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. I mean Windsor had nothing for offers and already proved the scouts wrong.
