However there is no need to fear, as our staff at PennState.Rivals.com is not going anywhere as everything else will remain the same, we are just simply going with a fresher, more modern look that is all.

You're almost certainly right but it seemed like as good a time to lobby as any. The image issue shouldn't be a huge ask because it's common enough elsewhere.

I'll also take this opportunity to ask that the mods or Rivals fix the broken avatar issue instead of relying on us (big shout-out to @nerfstate for figuring it out) to do so. Since the fix involves merely copying image files from one directory to the other, there's no reason that can't happen on the sys admin side. It would probably take ten minutes.

Storage still has linear costs to it, so I’d be surprised if Rivals decides to add that, but it’d be sweet. Madden and Wino alone probably need their own GIF bucket.

Typically when you see “cosmetic changes” or a “refresh” what’s really going on is the underlying software libraries a site depends on are ending support from a security perspective so they have to adapt to the new thing. The rate of security patching in this space is accelerating at a crazy pace these days. Pretty soon, we’ll have to turn the helm over to AI and hope for the best.

When you re-arrange the stores and force shoppers to backtrack to get certain items, there is a real return to the stores in additional revenue.
