On a conference call with reporters this morning, defensive line coach Sean Spencer offered up some 40-yard dash times that many here might find interesting. He mostly shared from his defensive ends, but the defensive tackle is who caught my attention…
• Yetur Gross-Matos - 4.52 seconds
• Shareef Miller - 4.6 (range)
• Shaka Toney - 4.5 (range)
• Jayson Oweh - 4.4 (range – fastest among true freshmen)
• Robert Windsor - 4.8-4.9 (range)
Some good stuff off Spencer's call about the depth of his unit. I'll share more on that later, but I thought these numbers were noteworthy, especially since PSU's clocks have been pretty close to the Combine's recently

"When [Miller] ran that, I said, Oh, wow!," Spencer said. "Thats pretty tremendous for a guy who is 6-5, 260 and can run 4.6. It's very very rare that a guy runs 4.5 at that size [like Gross-Matos]. Guys like Jayson Oweh are 4.4, so I guess we're going the right direction. We've got a 4x1 track team if we've got anything."
