R.I.P., Dick Van Patten

Best known, at least to me, for his role as the dad in Eight is Enough. He always seemed like a good guy.

That's sad news. To me he was like your next door neighbor. Quiet. Unassuming. Rest in peace.

But he appreared to be a rather namby- pamby father figure, both on film and in real life. His biological offspring were drug addicts and he seemed to defer to his wife on Eight is Enough when it came to disciplinary parentIng.

That's kind of funny because when I see Peetz Pool Boy I think what a namby-pamby. Coincidence??
 
DVP was great playing a weapon's specialist on The Six Million Dollar Man. Here's the episode. The SMDM was the best as a kid growing up in the 70's. Yes, I own the first three seasons on DVD. Oliver Nelson to this day provided the best soundtrack ever for a TV show.
