Actually, I'm hoping the losing coach doesn't get invited back next year so she can stop phoning it in like she has for the past three seasons.
I take comfort in knowing almost nobody knows we lost to Radford since almost nobody cares about the WNIT. If I hadn't read it here I wouldn't have known.At least take comfort in knowing that the losing coach will serve on whatever “coaching search committees” the AD feels are important

all except that she's taken a team that dominated the BIG and routinely made the NCAA's to losing in the NIT to Radford....a school the size of Shippensburg
What will Annie do? Doesn't appear to be much disagreement that Coach Washington has underachieved by PSU standards. She's under contract through next season. Annie's choices:
a) do nothing and defer the decision to next year;
b) fire her, eat the buyout, however much it is, and find a new coach; or
c) extend her for two years, or even more.
Let's see if Annie can justify her salary.

We need to poach Suzi McConnell from the pitters. I know she has done miserably of late at pitt. That's because it's pitt and even a good coach can't succeed at that sports cesspool. Suzi succeeded at every other place she played or coached. Suzi McConnell would turn the Lady Lions' basketball program around quickly.
Unfortunately, Suzi has stated repeatedly that she's a mom and wife first, is a home town girl and likes living in the burgh with her family. It would take a huge offer to pry her back to University Park. I doubt we'd have a booster with deep enough pockets to facilitate that right now. Maybe one of the other players who have graduated over the years? Or anyone other than Washington, who has done nothing but occupy an office in the BJC since Maggie Lucas and Alex Bentley left town.
You'll never get Suzi, hear tell she is being considered for the MBB Head Coach. LOL TIC
We need to get Fred Chmiel back from South Carolina. He made Washington look good when he was at PSU. When he left is when the downward trend began. He's a very good coach.
There are two dozen coaches I can cite who would be better candidates to replace Coquese than Suzie McConnell. There's nothing about her coaching record that stands out. She was a great Lady Lion player, comes from a family that justifiably could be called basketball royalty in this part of the country, but her own coaching record is just a little above mediocre.
