Club record 10 series sweeps. By the All Star Break.

Sweet.

UPDATE:
Cubs get a big 2 out double in the 6th that clears a bases loaded situation and 3 runs score to give the Cubs the lead, 5-4. Cards manager get sent packing as well.

Amazing! It wasn't until this time last year that the Pirates got their first sweep. The Cubs are now leading the Cardinals 5-4.
Hard to believe, although not likely, that it's mathematically possible the Bucs lead the division by the break.

A sweep of the Cardinals would be great, but I will be thrilled if we can take 3 out of 4. I love the way the rotation sets up for this series. Locke is usually very good at home and we have Cole,Burnett, and Liriano on Friday,Saturday, and Sunday.

I think either Saturday or Sunday may be a blackout game. Burnett goes Saturday and it would make sense for that to be the game. Hope so because I have Tix for that one.

I thought that was going to be an MLB Network telecast as well as Thursday's game.

By blackout I meant the crowd dress. Sunday is an ESPN game at night. By the way, Cards take the lead in the 9th after two outs.

Stinkin' Cards. Steroid boy Peralta hits 2-run homer with 2 out top of ninth for 6-5 lead. Cubs being Cubs. Now and forever.
Yep, although I never expected them to grab 2 yesterday, and this one isn't over yet. In any event, we don't need no stinkin' Cubs. We can win the Division on our own.

Same thing I thought, the cheating player from the cheating Cards wins it.

But what the heck was Joe Maddom doing? Why do you run Strop out there in a 1-run game when Rodon has only pitched one of the last 4 days??!

Don't know, but this is what the Cards and Cubs each do. History's a bitch.

The are tarnished, no doubt. I used to respect em', but no more. Ah well. It will be an interesting weekend, but certainly not decisive, no matter what happens.

Yes, one would think that if the Bucs can find a way to win today that they could pitch their way to taking 3 of 4 ...........

Definitely agree. On the surface, today looks to be the biggest game in the series. And Fairgambit, I think a sweep by the Cards would be as close to decisive as we can get at this point for reasons I noted earlier.

The Cards must be staying at the William Penn in Pittsburgh. A buddy of mine just drove by there and saw them unload

It would be a serious blow, no doubt. If it were to happen some of our fair weather fans would jump ship in a heartbeat. You just can't rely on those bandwagon people.
