G. Cole is one tough hombre .. 10 K's, 1 unearned run.

The old man pitches tomorrow.

Looks like the cheesesteak was lowered tonight.....

I turned down a ticket to the game tonight. It just seemed to cold for May baseball and I expected them to lose. It was a nice win. Maybe they'll get on a hot streak. Nah....

You expected Cole to lose?

Yes it was chilly tonight (brought the hanging baskets in - one has a birds nest in it.....).

Oldest son is going tomorrow afternoon. AJ is on a roll as well. Team is gradually coming around. Some timely hitting and 4 or 5 DP's tonight.... Jung or whatever his name is has been a big upgrade at SS.

Of course not! I expected the Pirates to lose. :D I figured he'd pitch pretty well and the bullpen would give it away.

The Mets are rough right now, got to get hot while they are playing so poorly. The kid who pitched for the Mets tonight was tough but got no help, the first baseman makes that play on Polanco and saves him 2 runs and 20 pitches. Who knows how it turns out at that point. The double plays were huge, the caught stealing were impressive as well. Cole made huge pitches when he needed them most. This game was a fun pitching matchup, once that kid gets some experience look out. It is no wonder everyone has been trying to trade for him, can't believe he was a throw in for RA Dickey a few years ago from the Blue Jays.

Today won't be as easy, the Mets play equally unsound baseball for Harvey but he is extremely good at picking up his teammates and limiting the damage, if there even is any. Syndergaard just hasn't figured that part out yet but he will. You see it with Cole, you will see it today with Harvey, they get into a little rough patch and they find something special, dig deep. Good win last night, today will be tough with Harvey and very fortunate to not run into deGrom in this series as well. Neise is struggling big time and goes tomorrow against Francisco who should bounce back just fine.
