Would be sweet to see Cole as the starter, but his weakness seems to be getting thru the first couple of innings so it may not be playing to his strengths....

This is really an enjoyable season for me. The ups and downs don't bother me as much. I know the Pirates will make the playoffs and while I would obviously prefer to do that as a Division winner, the Giants proved last year that the main thing is to get in. I just have fun watching the games.

In the last three games the Pirates have displayed a lot of "IT" factor , The 2 hit performance by Locke,
the 5 run come from behind on Sunday and tonight's defeat of Shields . He is a playoff style pitcher.

After starting 18 -22, the Pirates are 30 -12 in their last 42 games A crisp .700 pace.
