Raise it

Reports of their demise were premature. This is a terrific baseball team. Division winners or not, they will be a very difficult out for anyone in the playoffs.

Imagine the Buc's record if they didn't shit the bed so often against the bottom-feeders of the league. Hard to chase down the Cards while getting swept by the likes of Milwaukee.

One of the Pirate weak points is the pitching of Worley, Locke & Morton They need to score 5-6 runs when these 3 pitch.
They got lucky this evening with Scherzer pitching like he was Locke. That doesn't happen very often.
Then there is Pedro, 2 blasts 2 nights in a row. That is a rarity.

Good for Pedro.
I love him as a person, as he always does a respectful, team oriented interview. And it's obvious he has tried to be a team player, accepting his role and even changing positions to try and help the team, so I wish him nothing but the best if he stays or is traded.

It would be sweet if both Pedro and Polonco could break out offensively in the 2nd half of the year. Together with the big 3 pitchers and the other guys on offense the Bucco's might just catch the Cards if they can win two-thirds of the remaining head to head games.

The bull pen needs to pick it up from their recent performances, though. We may see another trade, and not of Pedro, but to get another middle relief pitcher.
