Such a revealing interview with RBY on the Bader Show. Learned a LOT about RBY, his upbringing, his recruitment and his freshman year, relationships with Gilman and others. Definitely worth a listen. I am a bigger RBY fan as well as Cael and Gilman too. Give it a Listen.

I spent two minutes trying to find it. Flo is far from navigation friendly. If I could stomach Bader for more than 10 minutes at a time I'd listen to a few podcasts, but it's not for me. Maybe someone will share a link.

I spent 10 seconds and accidentally found it. Great informative Interview with pretty much zero effort on my part. Embrace the FLO.....Enjoy the ride :)

Not much of a Bader fan when he’s calling a match myself, but in this show, he tends to ask really good questions and stay out of the way. Give it a chance.

I wonder whether at restaurants RBY tries to order three-initial items. BLT, PBJ, etc. 🧐
Or whether he just goes to

Did he ask him about possibly going 57kg?
Yes. He said he walks around at 144lbs and "is already skinny". Cut to 57 too much. 65 guys just too big. Plans to compete for world team next year at non-olymoic weight of 61 kilos. For now, helping Gilman train to win trials at 57.

One small correction--they are having a 10-weight Worlds this year--and he plans to go to Trials for that at 61kg (having qualified w/ this NCAA Natty).

RBY mentioned that Helen Maroulis is "at PSU now." Anybody know any more about that?
And that he trained with her and Ali Regan (sp?) at the OTC. Grandpa and him just dropped by the OTC when he was in high school and he stayed there a bit. Same with ASU RTC, that they just showed up, and were not kicked out (before he was "known" he said).

For colleges, it was PSU, ASU or Indiana. He mentioned that he doesn't do well with screaming/yelling coaches. Any ideas whom he could be referring too? ;)

Good interview. Great to hear more about the guys

Great interview. A great role model and example that wrestling can be for everyone and how instrumental youth and HS coaches can be to saving and betting lives.

Th mindset of PSU coaches, staff, and wrestlers is admirable and something I've tried to apply with age and hope to help instill into my future kids.

it's interesting to see how much they value themselves as humans off the mat and how wrestling isn't the most important thing in their lives and yet they're the most successful team.
