I think the better news here was that for the first time since I've seen, he changed his banner to reflect his status of heading to PSU with a cool little personalized scene.
I know there was atleast a little smoke about teams still after him and him possibly not being a lock, but he's done nothing but make comments that make you feel like he's all about PSU. Still looking at his twitter up til now, it looked more like that of a free agents than that of someone committed to a school. Knowing that there is so much talent in the roster and plenty more headed in, I'm sure he was still being recruited hard so it's good news to see him stay solid!

As "verbal committing" is done at a younger age...my preference to wait until signing day(s) to get excited holds more true than ever. Granted, decommit's are still not at the level of football and other higher profile sports, and it's nice to read about our recruits. Still, Roar's amp meter goes up when there's a John Hancock on the dotted line, not much before.
The post was about the banner which I'm pretty stoked about. The don't count you're chickens wisdom not withstanding I'd really like to see this kid at PSU and the banner feels like good news to me. The verified stuff was ignorance on my part.
Agree, the background is definitely new and it further validates his intentions. Could things change between now and LOI day? Sure. Is it likely? Nope.
Even HR has conceded RBY to PSU. Never know 100% until the NLI is signed, but looks like there's no worry here.

I think it means he is still thinking it over. His caricature is looking up at the PSU banner with his hand on his chin. That usually means "pondering" or "considering" something.

Thanks for explanation, I had seen his tweet about verification on my phone, hadn't realized he'd changed the banner. For what it's worth, when you apply to Twitter for verified status, there's a check list of things you need to do and supplying a banner image is one of them. So impetus for banner may have simply been the desire to get his account verified. Definitely a good sign that he's made up his mind by his choice of images though.

If you look over his tweets from when he verballed to PSU, what would indicate he wasn't very enthusiastic about coming to Happy Valley? I just don't see a scintilla of evidence to that effect.

Spent time recently with a couple dozen fans, and y'all can guess the topics of conversation. Many different degrees of tolerance for all the drama...
What pisses me off is Nick, by now, knows what is being said. IMO he should state his intent for the coming season. Doe's anyone who follows the twitter know if he answered DT during the wall time period?
His last activity on Twitter was March 2016. We might as well accept that he's not gonna say anything there about this.
