Not sure whats going on with him but he has a hole in his leg that looks pretty ugly!

Potentially staph infection. He posted a pic of it earlier.

Definitely worth it's own thread. It'll get buried in that other one.

Damn shame. Hope the kid heals to 100%.

Glad he caught it and reacted quickly (within a 30 hour span he went to the ER it looks like). MRSA is a very serious matter but he should be fine.

We now know also that's what derailed Kerk's season (he had a very bad version of it including sepsis and blood clots and resulted in him losing basically 30 pounds of muscle also) .... the fact he came back within a month to AA (while bonusing all his wins) and then beating Parris at OTT really shows how naturally gifted he is.

Might need to spend some of that slush fund on some mat cleaner.

During wrestling season in high school one year I got a few boils on my legs. They actually looked worse than RBY's infection. I came very close to having to be hospitalized. All of them had to be lanced. It was unbelievable how much puss came out of them. It was like a continuous lava flow as the doctor kept squeezing (but wait, there's more!) on each boil. The doctor actually called in the nurses to show them how bad boils can get. I have scars from them. In RBY's case, MRSA is scary. Having worked in law enforcement, I unfortunately would occasionally come across individuals with MRSA; nasty stuff. Here's to a quick recovery for RBY.

Was it definitely diagnosed as MRSA or are you guys just guessing that's what he has? About 3 years ago, I had something that looked very similar on my left leg, but it wasn't MRSA. It was a brown recluse spider bite! Whether it's MRSA or a spider bite, both can be pretty serious, but they have to be treated differently. It took about 4 months to completely heal. If I had been wrestling, I'm pretty sure that I would have been out for at least 2-3 months. Either way, I sure hope RBY comes out OK.

I got the exact same thing on my elbow 15 years ago or so. I got it from an exposed wound and a tanning bed.

The first time i noticed something was wrong was when i made the turn at a golf scramble outing the next day, a few of my friends who i approached looked at me like they just saw a ghost and said, “ Dude what in god’s name is up with your arm, it’s twice the size as your other one”… and that wasn’t an exaggeration.

Before going into to see my sister, who was the director of the E.R at the local hospital to have it cleaned out and dressed up after culture confirmed it was MRSA, I did the same thing apparently RBY did.

I took my two right fingers and popped the head on what looked liked a giant pimple head.

And what came out initially wasn’t for the faint of heart, but what came out next def wasnt’t.

MRSA eats up flesh quickly, and as i was literally pulling what looked like the last of the puss out, a section that looked like ramen noodles came out last accompanied with literally a popping noise, and I was left with the exaxt same thing RBY just showed… a freaking hole in my elbow.

It looked like looking down a dark well.

Ahhhh the memories.

No, he obviously tried to become a werewolf in order to score some chicks.

Definitely MRSA

Wish him a speedy recovery. Hoping that he is smart about his recovery with the Fall semester and official practice on the horizon.

I was diagnosed with type II diabetes 12 years ago. In 2015 I broke a toe that became septic within four days and it had to be amputated. MRSA was just one of the nasties involved. Being diabetic, the Drs said that I might have had an existing infection floating around and the fracture jump started it.

Since then I have had three separate foot wounds, two blisters and an ingrown toenail, that I immediately sought treatment for. All three tested positive for MRSA. I’m pretty vigilant about keeping my feet clean and always follow the Lt. Dan rule on clean socks. Part of me thinks that MRSA never leaves and just hangs out waiting for it’s next opportunity.

For me, the worst part is when the Bactrim and the other meds prescribed for the infections combine with my regular Metformin scrips and marches through my g.i. like Sherman through Georgia.

Lived in the dorms from 90/91 - 91/92 and those free coupon books had a McLanahan’s coupon for 20 packs of instant ramen for a buck. Ate it at least every other day. Sometimes I‘d splurge and buy a jar of DelGrosso’s or a can or tuna or sardines to spruce it up a little. Haven’t eaten it since I moved out of the dorms. Just the thought of it turns my stomach and raises my blood pressure. I don’t care if a Michelin chef prepares it, if they call it ramen, I’m not eating it.
