The sentiment on here sucks lately. So many posters bitching about recruiting. I am not sure if most people realize how lucky this program is considering the program almost ceased to exist 3 years ago. You got to watch a legend win 409 games with honor. You got to watch obrien come in, take a look under the hood, and cut out the fat from the program all the while saving us from Armageddon. And what is perhaps most mind boggling is a lot of posters bitch about obrien yet an nfl owner thought so much of him that he threw 40 million at him. You now have the top up and coming young college coach in the game leading your program, however, God forbid someone wants to recruit one of our committed players because they are good. It's franklins fault right?
Fact... Our recruiting is the best that it's been in 15 to 20 years minus the 2005 class. I saw the stats that we got 3 of the top ten players in the state of pa from 2010-2014. Last year we got 7 out of 10. This year we are on the same pace to take who we want out of pa. We are now pulling kids from bama, Cali, Midwest, have the top player from pa, ny, ma, and md. We are recruiting great players with solid character.
The star system is the biggest piece of bullshit considering you have asshats like mike Farrell determining rankings by who goes to rivals camps and throws him a bone. We are recruiting our biggest weaknesses and it will take time to fix the imbalance due to sanctions and joes staff mailing it in the last years of their tenure. A lot of the kids we are going after are multi sport athletes who have the ability to grow into their positions. Good size, good work ethic, and most important speed at every position. My own two cents is we are building the program the correct way through a shut down defense.
