PSU is still a long way off from being good let alone elite as evidenced by the game yesterday. While I hate seeing them ever lose a game, at least it will stop the uneducated segment of the members on this site (sadly about 80%) from forecasting records of 10-2 or 9-3. Come on guys - learn the game please and stop being homers. Really?

I said it before the season started and I'll say it again - I'd be THRILLED with 8-4, but thought 6-6 or 7-5 was more likely. After what I saw yesterday - we might not even get there.

Every facet of this team could have been questioned after a loss like that. I'm going to look at two areas. The obvious is the O-Line which continues to struggle. Hack while far from perfect, needs time to throw. Being sacked and knocked down as many times as he was isn't a formula for success. If you cannot pass, you cannot run and vice versa. Secondly I question coaching/play calling. I posted last week about this. While Franklin is an elite Top 5 recruiter, in my opinion he is very much a below average game day coach. Too many gimmicks, too predictable of an offense. It really worries me. He need to get this fixed or we are going to be in for a very long season or two. In a fantasy land I'd love to have O'Brien as a play caller with Franklins recruiting ability.
