The end of the season and the past month have sucked, and we still may lose some guys before signing day. But some folks are acting like they just got dire medical results. When it comes strictly to Penn State football, this is not even remotely close to the Sat in Nov 2011 when Sandusky was arrested. Not even remotely close to the next 96 hours which saw the WORLD descend on State College, saw the President, AD, and another university executive all get dismissed and then watch the BOT call a hastily timed news conference and announce the dismissal of a 60 year employee and the most beloved person in Pennsylvania this side of our Founding Fathers. I think that week was worse than this.

We then watched and read the national media shred the football program, university, and everyone who loved and cared about it. People were verbally accosted for wearing Penn State clothes in public. The university and town were being torn apart. Two months later Joe passes suddenly, reopening wounds that had yet to heal. Time moved on and then July 2012 happens and the NCAA places the most draconian sanctions on the program and the BOT accepts them all without any fight. Coaches from rival programs descend on State College to poach players and there is nothing any one can do about it. I think that was a little bit worse of a time than this.

We have had other issues main the 2 year prison sentence we dealt with waiting for OB to decide he had found a prettier girl. Putting the football program to the side, this board must have some of the luckiest people in the world on here. The way some people react to 17 and 18 year old teenagers changing their mind or not choosing to play football at Penn State is mind boggling. Does it suck? Yeah, but not nearly as bad as what we as fans have suffered in the past 4 years. Not to mention real world issues like losing your job, not able to get a new job, divorce, terrible health news, mental health issues, substance abuse issues, watching your wife have a nervous breakdown because she can't get pregnant, death, finding out 2 weeks ago your 38 year old friend does of an over dose, not being able to pay your mortgage, issues with your kids, watching your house get destroyed by an act of God and anything else that life can throw at you. All of these things would cause any of us to grief. Not football recruiting and the decisions of 18 year old kids that we have zero control over.
