Read somewhere a while back that Franklin's defenses at Vandy were top 25, and basically carried the team. Offense was not spectacular and in fact had issues at times. JD called all the plays at Vandy.
Firing JD is fixing a weak link in his staff that has been there for sometime?
PSU is a higher level than Vandy and Franklin could no longer carry on without upgrading the weak link. Maybe he should not have brought JD over from Vandy as OC. Similar to how OBrien decided to not make Butler his DC in NFL.
