The assistant Attorney General in January 2018, Stephen Boyd was essentially Trump's employee. (worked under the authority of his appointed AG) He made these stupid and dishonest statements about the FISA based on the Steele Dossier.
"Media reports indicate that the Committee’s memorandum contains highly classified material confidentially provided by the Department to the Committee in a secure facility.1
The Department takes any allegation of abuse of our justice system by Department employees seriously. Further, we assume that HPSCI members want to provide evidence of any specific allegation of misconduct to Department officials so that we may take appropriate action. The rule of law depends on the confidence of the American people that our prosecutors and investigators apply the law fairly and without bias or regard for political influence. Though we are currently unaware of any wrongdoing relating to the FISA process, we agree that any abuse of that system cannot be tolerated." https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/4361958/FBI-FISA-Russia-Nunes.pdf
1. The idea that there was highly classified material in the FISA was a joke. It was merely gossip by someone that Steele talked to.
2. He claimed to be unaware of wrongdoing, but it was all over the place.
This guy should have been honestly working to find the truth, which would have helped Trump. Instead he was dishonestly actively working to undermine Trump. Ultimately, this is Trump's responsibility because he has a history of not being loyal to his lawyers and hired the people who were dishonestly undermining him.
