How will we respond to Iowa game? Will it knock us down like last season or can we come out like we did after loss to Bama in 1982? I believe that we'll step up to the challenge.

Too early to say. Personally, I don't think we are going to know until Cliff's status is known or we get to Maryland. I think the team comes out energized and gets a win against Illinois as I do not expect to see Cliff back for some time. Given that everything we have seen from Roberson indicates he doesn't have the arm to execute the offense, we'll be stuck with a lot of limited uptempo drives where we are forced to play opponents 11 on 11 within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage while further wearing out the defense.

I think a lot of criticism of Franklin is unfair, but one thing about his teams, they do not typically perform well after a big loss. We also have typically had some tough games after losses, but I dont know. He is a very emotional guy(good and bad) and I feel like losses in the past have festered into another immediate loss or a very uninspiring win over an overmatached opponent. Until the trend ends, I have my doubts. I will say, we are lucky to have a bye week followed by Illinois.

Clifford comes back…5-1 or 6-0 down the stretch with a BIG rematch with Iow possible.

No Cliff….1-5 with a loss to Buttgers.
